Fabrics Loake

Loake Shoemakers, English shoe manufacturer, was started in 1880 by three brothers, five generations later being still family-owned and managed. As a supplier of shoes to the Royal household, Loake has a Royal Warrant of Appointment to the Queen. Loake is most proud of the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into its Goodyear Welted shoes, production that takes approximately eight weeks. The process involves some 130 skilled craftspeople, 75 shoe parts and 200 handcrafted operations. For finishing, Loake shoes undergo up to eleven different polishing operations all executed by hand.
